Default Scottish Disabled Fundraiser Springwater Fishery 19/4/09 Thanks

Many thanks to everyone who contributed yesterday. To all the anglers who fished, to all the donors of gifts, to anyone who bought a raffle ticket many many thanks. Including the first 3 lots up for auction the total raised so far is £2317. There were some really special prizes and some of these are still to appear on this site. The Angling Water 3 day ticket is still open, so get your £10 in to Boobybasher. Look out for other items.

A full list of raffle prizewinners will be posted soon.

45 fish for 95lbs 4ozs were weighed in and 143 fish were released.
Many thanks to Wullie Scott and staff at Springwater, a great day.
As a new member to the forum this year I have been very impressed by all the support from positive comments to forum members who turned up to fish as well. If you were there I hope you enjoyed your day. See you next year.

Glad to hear you had a good day and apparently I even won a raffle prize. You certainly did well on the fund raising! You even beat our previous total.

Cracking amount of money raised for a very worthy charity.

As already stated. It was a fantastic day all around.
At least I saw plenty of fish being caught

It was my first ever shot at comp style fly fishing.
What's with all the up'ing sticks and yomping around the place to the next peg all about

Here's a picture I took on the day which sums up comp fly fishing for me

Does anyone know if this raffle has been drawn yet and if so who was the winner?

heres a pic of my prize and fish, just a note to all, the fish were caught after the competition, as during the competition i blanked hence the hat and priest as a booby prize, but as least i got to christen the priest not even an hour after i got it

I'll get some better pics of it later as the priest is a wee cracker, i has a saltire inlaid at the handle and it says Lake of Mentieth 2008.

Also a huge thanks to boobybasher who gave me an excellent lesson after the comp in differing retrieves to induce takes and it worked on the first cast to land the bottom fish!
