Well today was 'the' day and I couldnt hope for a nicer day to put my trust in a thin piece of rope!!
The venue was the 'stunning' Bamburgh Castle. If any of you are ever in Northumberland, it is well worth a visit. A superbly preserved castle with a fantastic museum and stunning views of the Northumberland coast and countryside
Had to be there for 10.00 to sign and get 'tooled up' ready for my task ahead, and I was then ready for the off.
I did have some moral 'support' in the shape of my Business and Marketing manager Vicky. I use the word 'support' in the loosest possible way!! If I was putting my trust in a piece of rope, I was damned sure I was taking one of my staff with me!!
Anyway, after what felt like a 20 mile hike to the top, the time came for me to go 'over the top'
I know, that picture didnt catch my best side and the harness made my bum look big. Either that or I blame my daughters photography. I'm a tuned athlete really
Once over the top it was ............ well just like falling off a castle!!
After a bit of heckling from my wife on the ground, and shouts from her of 'cut the rope', my feet finally hit terra firma
All in all it was a fantastic day out and we were blessed with superb weather for it. Most of all, the charity has benefited massively from the day. Once I have a final figure in I wil let you al know what we raised.
