Hello All

I am hosting a very special Charity Auction for a very special Charity called Gardening Leave.

**The auction will end Sunday the 12th at 9pm**

Before you start bidding, here is what they do....

Gardening Leave is a Charity that is heavily involved in improving the mental and physical wellbeing of ex-Service personnel using Horticultural Therapy and, specifically for us Forumites, Fly Fishing! (further details at the bottom of the page)

The main person behind this auction is our very own forumite, lvlacleod (Tam Anderson) who is an ex-serviceman and very involved with the Gardening Leave Charity and also in encouraging and engaging with other veterans in flyfishing.

I am sure we can all imagine what other Soldiers and other military personal go through and no doubt many of us have friends or family involved in, or have been involved in, conflicts locally and abroad.

Default Introduction from Jamie at Gardening Leave

Evening Gents

Thought it was about time I introduced myself to fellow forums members, espicially with the outstanding support you's give to Gardening leave and also because I thought you's may like to know who is receiving the proceeds from the auction for the Gardening Leave veterans. Therefore may I take this oppertunity to thank each and everyone of you's for your kind donations and finiancial contributions that you's have made in the past and hopefully the present on behalf of the staff and veterans at Gardening leave.

A little about myself, I started with Gardening leave sometime ago initially as the fishing volunteer. I have recently completed 26 years Army service myself and finally left the Army in Sept last year in order that I could take up the post at Gardening leave as the full time fishing co-ordinator/instructor.

At present I compile a weekly winter programme for the veterans, which include two days fly fishing to (Local Stillwaters) and two days fly tying conducted at Gardening leave.

Once the season starts we will be back to river fishing with a trip to a stillwater on occassions. The interest amongst the veterans is growing more and more, as Gardening Leave now have ten regular fly fisherman, we also have veterans from Hollybush that fish at Gardening leave on a daily basis.
