For the first time in my life I have decided to keep the hair above my top lip, much to the wifes delight (not!!)

I am doing this as part of Movember, the moustache growing month. All money raised is donated to The Prostrate Cancer Charity and The Institute of Cancer Research

Had a tache since I was 18 Ian, it's changed colour over the years, but I can't imagine life without it now.
I did once shave it off, and got a rollocking from mrs T, so it went back on again pronto.
And NO, before you ask, I will not shave it off for charity.
I'll stick a donation in the pot very shortly for you though.

Watching this thread develop reminds me of a personal incident from 1976'ish. Had a bushie mustache for years and one Sunday morning decided enough was enough and cut same off.

Walked down stares and wife/young daughter were reading the Sunday Morning 'funny papers' together (learning to read sort of thing). Walked through the room and Julie looks up at me, over to her Mother and asks: 'Whose that?'

Stopped me cold in my tracks until it 'clicked' that, with the 'Stash, was the only way she'd ever seen me.
