I know this looks dodgy but this is the gods honest truth.

The trustees at Gardening Leave had their annual meeting and one of the topics raised was veterans donating. It would appear veterans are no longer allowed to donate or in my case do this sort of things. Apparently some veterans who make donations think that allows them special privelages or to be treated better than the rest.

Over the last year I have done a lot for GL and it was purely to thank them for everything they have done for me, I have done all this for no other reason. As a result I'm afraid I have to withdraw this auction.

I apologise sincerely to those who placed bids and would also like to thank everyone on here that has helped raise money for GL. The biggest one being the charity auction for an AtomSix rod, ReelPorn reel, Wm. Salter rod tube and loads more.

Again, I can't apologise enough for this and do hope that you understand.

Thanks,
Tam

No worries Tam, and well done on what has been achieved so far.

I don't understand it myself and a bit pi55ed off with it to be honest. It's still ok for me to a sponsored something and perfectly fine for me to go on "Holding out for a hero" and win £90,000 and then give them the money, which I think is no different than me doing a charity auction and then handing over the money.

Anyone on here that wants to donate items for the fly tying or anything is still fine.

They're just trustees, most of us have never seen them, they do 5hite all so what difference does it make if me as a veteran (who feels that if it wasn't for GL I wouldn't be here) wants to sell something and then give them the money.
