The auction has been organised by the Tyne Riparian Owners and Occupiers Association, who have given generously of their fishing to raise funds for the work of the Tyne Rivers Trust. One day - Sunday 25 September 2011 - has been given over to the festival, when rods on all stretches of the river, from the hills to the tidal reaches, are being made available to buy at this web-based auction.
The Festival has been sponsored by Hardy.
This is a rare opportunity to secure fishing that is not normally available. Premier beats are here for you to bid for. But there are over 40 lots to choose from, some 90 rods or more in total, and fishing to suit every preference and pocket.
Details are provided on the auction process, but please note that the bidding closes at 1.00pm on Monday 15 August 2011, so make sure that you log your interest and do not miss out.
Please bid generously (see lots list below) support the work of the
Tyne Rivers Trust, and enjoy your fishing. Thank you for your support
There will be a dinner after the fishing on 25th September at the Hexham Mart function suite to celebrate the festival, reflect on the day and be both entertained and informed. Dinner will be a 3-course sit down dinner at tables of 10, and there will be a pay bar.
The dinner is not confined to those fishing on the day; indeed, it will be an opportunity for everyone including those who have not been able to fish to take part in the event.
Tickets are £35 each, or you can take a table of 10 for £350. Seats are limited, so we suggest you apply early although bookings will still be possible after the closing date for the fishing lots on 15 August. To Book tickets,
