I suspect you don't train with weights Alan but my bench press is about 30% higher than my bench pull which suggests the opposite, however I suspect the push-pull interaction is much more complex than this. I suspect that the normal cast for most of us is mostly push but the competition casts with their much wider arcs employ a big pull.
