Default Essex Instructor ?

A mate of mine lives on the Essex coast (Maldon area) and has just asked me to find him some casting tuition.

Any suggestions please - is Mike Marshall still teaching?

Thanks in advance.

Seconded for Tim Joyce. Charlie Abrahams on here will vouch for him too.

Alternatively, Nigel Angus is also a superb casting instructor. You can often tell a Nigel taught person as the fluidity is obvious. He spent 10mins with my Bother-in-War and he can now cast beautifully.

Both can and will meet you at Chigboro which will be your closest venue.

Having been fishing for around 40 years and never bothered with the double haul I tried some self tuition via Youtube videos, the results were not particularly good! I decided to invest in a lesson with Nigel Angus at Chigboro... he had me double hauling within about 10 minutes and also taught me some really useful techniques for casting into a headwind along with some other interesting casts for dealing with obstacles etc. Went home and practiced and can now easily cast an entire line and some with almost any rod I pick up once I have adapted to the action. Nigel is personable, knowledgeable and a good teacher, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Andrew
