I have used his 5/6 (called the poacher or stalker) twin line and also his 6/7, they are good quality with very low memory and have invariably worked well on every rod I have tried them with. Really don't understand his twin rating though, no doubt someone will enlighten me! I have also used his Salmon lines and been very happy with those too.

I did manage to get the lines at a very decent price (the 5/6's were seconds due to colour bleed and cost next to nothing so I bought 3). Currently I am mainly using a Cortland 444 WF5F (Peach) and love it, I know it's 'old hat' but really is a lovely fishing line.

I have just seen this advert... Snowbee XS WF7F Ivory White these get really good reviews too, might be worth a shot?

Andrew

Also consider Mike barrio's GT140, nice supple and a good casting line with a long rear taper, short belly and front taper giving another arrow head effect.

I use little else these days (sorry PP). I fell in love with them some time ago and haven't looked back. Even after a closed season on the reel they fly off with no memory and lie straight on the water. As 3lber says they are a treat to cast.....a full line out no problem (they are a couple of yards shorter than the average though so this helps ...........highly recommended by birdsnest

Thinking about this.I have Early versions of ME lines.I believe these were made by Shakespeare. It is possible the latest ME lines might be made by Airflo.though I'm not 100% sure.So things might have changed.Anybody know for sure.

Early ones were definately shaky........not sure who makes them now. Not long treated my little brookie to a wf#4 ME and it seems as good as they ever was..............birdsnest

I had more recent ones and they definitely weren't as good as the shakey made ones in my opinion.

They are very short lines for some reason. Easy to get backing out on every cast.

Thought I'd just add that this thread made me decide to try my ME 'Stalker 5/6' floating line on my Winston BIIx 9' #5, instead of the Cortland I have been using; the result was very positive. I know they are only 25mtr lines but when needed I could cast the whole line quite easily, even in blustery conditions.

Confirming rrw35's comment, I also have the 'All rounder 6/7' floating line which my Scott S4 9' #6 can easily launch into the backing. Spoke to Michael today and gather that my lines are not the Shakespeare ones (they would have to be 9 years old if they were) and are in fact the ones made by the current manufacturer, I have no idea whether they are as good as the old ones (which I only have in Salmon wt's) but I am more than happy with them. I'm even digging deep and ordering a couple of new ones.
