Good call I-9, that had never occurred to me and you could well be right. But as a caster -one on one- I'd put my money down on Steve.
Way back in the day (Wife and I sponsored "Charity Spey Casting Clinics") Way/Steve were our instructors (just paid their hard costs) and Way did most of the 'verbal,' Steve did the demo's. At one, the XLT lines were in the development stages so the fellows got to try lines that weren't even in boxes yet.
That aside, Steve loaded up someone's rod with one of the lines and within 4-5 casts he had 150 foot of line+leader in the air. For all of us, it was a
"OH GOD!" moment.


Now, here, in the casting comps ... if you can't shoot 150' don't bother to show up save for the camaraderie of the thing. You're an 'also ran.' James, and the Carron Team, always show very high in the standings.
