Back in the desert so I've just about dried out after last weekend! Great catching up with you guys again, and meeting a few new faces.
With regard to the competition, while I was casting the #7 I remember thinking it wasn't going that well - I don't usually see that much line left at my feet. I put this down to the fact I haven't done much casting with a #7 this year, the weather conditions on the day and the possibility that I was just having an off day. However, when getting my things in order for coming back to the US it dawned on me that I'd taken the wrong reel to Wrexham, and I had in fact been casting a Barrio #5 on my TCX #7

(both the Barrio and my MED #7 are on LC80 reels, and both lines are the same colour).
That I cast slightly longer in the #7 (with a #5) than I did in the #5, shows that the TCX #7 doesn't make too bad a five weight

.
See you in Reading.
