Default BFCC Wrexham

The next BFCC event is on Sun 12 June 2011 at Wrexham Rugby Club Bryn Estyn Road Wrexham LL13 9TY.

This is a comp and coaching day. All are welcome but space is limited. I believe there is a fee of £10 for the day to non members. If you are coming could you please let Mike Marshall know asap. His email address is on our web site BFCC - Home Of Uk Fly Casting

I wish I could bring the New Mexico air with me - casts go a long way in the thin, dry, hot atmosphere, the spring winds help to.
Looking forward to it, see you next Sunday.

Cor! you are pushing it now James, first of all it's the wrong shoulder.

Now it's the wrong air.

It will be nice to see you next Saturday/Sunday.

Oh Yeah! I don't think so. Back in October you blasted 187feet plus with the T38. You had only just got back the previous day from Christmas Island.

I think that you and "bushy" should be handicapped.

Default how stooopid am I?

Back in the desert so I've just about dried out after last weekend! Great catching up with you guys again, and meeting a few new faces.
With regard to the competition, while I was casting the #7 I remember thinking it wasn't going that well - I don't usually see that much line left at my feet. I put this down to the fact I haven't done much casting with a #7 this year, the weather conditions on the day and the possibility that I was just having an off day. However, when getting my things in order for coming back to the US it dawned on me that I'd taken the wrong reel to Wrexham, and I had in fact been casting a Barrio #5 on my TCX #7 (both the Barrio and my MED #7 are on LC80 reels, and both lines are the same colour).
That I cast slightly longer in the #7 (with a #5) than I did in the #5, shows that the TCX #7 doesn't make too bad a five weight .
See you in Reading.

With the amount of line you carry James would the 5# line not be like a 9#?
How did Roger do?

Brian

Hi Brian

As you know I now concentrate on other things in GAIA & FFF so I prefer to spend my time teaching/instructing at the BFCC events rather than the comps. This also frees up the big hitters like Mike Heritage and John Reynolds to focus on the comps and keep James in check.
See you in Glasgow in September, hope you bring some guys down with you.
Really looking forward to this meeting.

Kind regards

Rog
