Default 2011 Spring Fly Show

If you want a good day out then check us out at the Spring Fly Show this weekend, at Newark, Notts.

Calendar | BFCC - Home Of Uk Fly Casting

Bring all the family and have one to one tuition.

Children under 11 years will receive free tuition for 15 minutes, from one of our instructors that are certified to teach children under the Angling Development Board (part of the Angling Trust) Child Protection Program.

Come and see our world class distance casters and have a lesson with them.

The instructors that form the BFCC are from GAIA, FFF & AAPGAI

Try your hand at our "go for gold" schemes starting from 20 yards.

We are there on Saturday and Sunday, so just call in for a chat or the chance to bone up on your fly casting.

See you there to "shoot the breeze" or to "shoot the line"

Kind regards

Roger Miles

I'll see you there, Roger.

As is customary I'll get my excuses in now; man-flu and sore shoulder.

I'm just back after wasting nearly eight hours of my life on the road, travelling to and from the poorest show I have ever attended. It was extremely disappointing, and if you're thinking of going tomorrow (and you're not into shooting) I wouldn't bother.

Not a lot there for those interested in fly fishing/tying.
I'm not likely to go again, but then since it has been renamed as "The British Shooting Show" rather than the Spring Fly Fishing Show I should have been warned.

I went a couple of times probably a couple of years ago and vowed I never pay an entrance fee to go and spend my money again. By the sounds of things I made a wise decision with this show.

IMO the open days at the AW reservoirs are so much better value for money. You get less tackle stands admittedly but the advice is free and the food is reasonably priced.

If the will was there I'm sure AW could make these days even more of a success, especially if there's no wind or rain to spoil an outdoor event.

accony, that was my sentiments exactly. i spent over 200 quid last year on bits and bobs. out of curiosity, when i got home i googled the same items i had purchased and by buying online including postage i would have saved 25 quid without paying for petrol, entrance fee and food and drinks. the show itself was not great. i think this will be the last year it runs. a lot of bad feedback.
