I've 'Mentored' more than a few 'start up' business' ... and to answer your first question that comes to mind ... I don't charge any kind of fee/what-ever,
nor do I ask for 'product in kind.' If I think this is a 'good product' that folks should be aware of, and it 'succeeds,' that is my 'reward.'
I'm I 'unusual?' Not in the least, there are many of us 'Old Banker Foggies' who do a similar thing; the good part is we don't have to 'pull punches/make nice' as we have no financial gain on the horizon.
