I mentioned i always carry a divers net knife when tubed which you can see from the photo is not "pointy" but had a razor sharp blade

I also use a "Stringer" to carry my fish simply made from 100 mono or similar material make a loop one end and another the other end make a toggle, this stops the fish falling off ! Overall 2 1/2ft- 3 ft long

I made this one from a bit of scrap perpex roughed up with sand paper, but any stiff plastic type material about 5mm -8mm thick can be shaped to suit.

Simply whip a bit of old backing over the loop joins and epoxy to stop the fishes teeth from cutting it.



Funny story ........years ago when i lived in the middle east i was spear fishing breath hold diving in about 15 ft of water, i always wore a leg knife "and" a thin narrow killing knife on my upper arm to dispatch fish.

One day i had just shot a grouper right on the bottom, and shot up to get a breath, trailing the spear gun line which was attached to the spear which inturn was in the grouper .......... about a foot from that lovely fresh air i jolted to a dead stop i was held fast and really needed to breath, not a pleasant feeling i can tell you !

Turned out an old fishing net had caught around my leg knife !! Luckly i cut myself free with my arm knife If i hadnt of carried that second knife ............well
