Default Keel Repair

Hi all,

I have just noticed that the keel on my boat is coming apart from the hull, the bolts have pulled out from the hull. Does anybody know where I could get this repaired/replaced in Tyrone/Fermanagh area?
Would it be to much of a job to do myself, what type of wood is it and where could it be obtained?
Any advice appreciated.

Default depends on your budget

I would say it depends on your budget.
Limitless - Buy a new boat
Fair - look up local boat repairers / ships chandlers / marinas for info.
Restricted - Have a crack yourself, fiberglass is wonderfull stuff.
If you can post some pics I may be able to point you in the right direction as I've bought, sold and repaired quite a few plastic boats, never a wood hull but lets have a look all the same.

Best regards

Rob

thanks for your reply, Roders. Will try and get some pics tomoro. The hull is fiberglass, keel is wood with a steel band around it, standard lakeboat.
