Ravensthorpe , Thornton - Mike Barrio's place up at Haddo all hire out/teach - best idea is to get onto the BFTA ( British Float Tube Assns ) wbsite and look there !

Depends really on where you live nearest !

Best wishes and have fun !

Steve ,
I could be wrong but am fairly sure the AW guys sold of the tubes at Ravensthorpe, think someone had a bargain!
Haddo is a great place to go ,nice and sheltered, stonking fish and the owner is one hell of a nice guy, and he knows his tubing!
Must take the tube up to thorton sometime soon ,not one I have fished!

Im sure ACW is correct you can still tube at Ravensthorpe but Anglian Water H&S department has stopped them from renting out the equipment.

I would contact the BFTA The British Float Tube Association they have days all over the country.

I have mine you can use at Thornton but a day out with the BFTA would be a great way to go.

Need any info drop me or Steve Parton a call Steve introduced tubing to the UK.

Ifor

Ain't that a shame -

So that's another attack from the 'Abominable No Men !' that succeeded - I really do have to get out of this business before they stop me from hurting myself !

And we still haven't got on at Grafham after all these years - the last time I asked they said there was a chance we'd get our heads cut off by the Safety Boats the yachters use !

Oh my the pantywaist world we are living in !

Sadly

I've started tubing this season and I can heartily recommend that you join the British Float Tube Association. So far I've fished the meetings at Rutland and Thornton and you couldn't wish to meet a friendlier or more helpful bunch.

Another vote for Ifor at Thornton. He's a top man and won't chop your head off with a safety boat.

If you have local waters that allow tubing I wouldn't worry too much if you can't find a place to rent. I got a set up for under £90 from pontoonboats (tube, fins and pump).

You will need a non automtic inflatable vest ....don't get ripped off in fishing shops, you can get exactly the same £55 vest from an online chandlers for £35.

The only thing that stops me doing it more regularly is that you need to ensure your fishing buddies are into it (otherwise rather antisocial). Also I cannot take my dog with me (working on a doggy tube!).

IMHO best way to fish...enjoy!!

AWESOME!!!!! Love it

I have got my hands on an old lorry inner tube so will try and fasion something.....though I reckon my mutt is about 7 stone.

Last year I was tubing on a remote loch in the highlands while the dog was watching from the bank. All of a sudden she bizarely decided to swim to the other side. It was a great big water and paddled to head her off. She had started to panic and started trying to climb onto my tube. I was slapping the hell out of her but in the end she won and we just managed to limp back into shore without both of us ending up in 'deep water'...quite literally!
