Default Boat trailer wanted

Hi folks,

I am looking for a boat trailer, preferably second hand or a very modestly priced new one. The trailer can be single or double axis, and has to be able to carry my 19ft sheelin boat...

I am based in Galway, Ireland, but i would be prepared to travel in order to pick up.

I wanted to build one myself, but I don't have the time, (and possibly the know how )

Thanks
JJ

John,
while I can't advise you where to buy one, I can advise on getting a proper galvanised job. I bought an Indespension trailer from an outlet in Galway many years ago when my home made one fell apart when I was over in the west. It had rusted from the inside out
The Indespension one is still going strong or it was last time I saw it [sold boat and trailer 10 years ago]
The last trailer I had with my Seahog Sea Jeep was a Snipe break-back design and was a joy to use even in the sea and single handed. Snipe have a dealership in Kerry. Check out their website http://www.snipetrailers.com/

Good luck

There was something on this forum against building one yourself as if there was a crash/accident and your trailers was not up to standards you would be in a spot of bother.

this is a nice site with lots of boats and accessories

I wouldnt recommend buying a home made trailer either as i have found out much to my disdain. Dont know where the maker got the rims from which makes it difficult to get spare or new wheels etc

Default Still haven't got a trailer sorted.

So here we are again, one year on and still haven't got myself a trailer. We had a baby last May and that put a halt on my spending..

I am still on the look out for a trailer if anyone is thinking of selling one. I don't have a whole pile to spend, but would like to get one which is galvanised and in decent shape.

If anyone is looking at selling please let me know. I've trawled through done deal and have a couple of options, but thought someone on the forum may be looking to sell.

Need to get one this week if at all possible..

Cheers
JJ
