Default Shakespeare electric engine - Help!

Hi

Wondered if anyone can please help. My shakespeare engine isn't doing anything when you engage the throttle either forwards or in reverse. I've checked the obvious things like the terminal connections, the battery's charged, etc. but its still dead.

Can anyone give me some advice as to what might be causing the problem before I contact Shakespeare?

Thanks in advance.

if you take the blade off there should be shear pin in the slot , shear pin make you find the gears once the blade is on

without the shear pin the engine looks dead

hi sidewinder i have had problems with my shakespeare engine as well, ranging from only going forward no reverse to not being able to stop engine at all. i had to strip the top covering of engine of to find the problem. there is a screw with a allen key type head connected to your handle which i have had to tighten several times which has solved my problem. i know there is problems with these engines as a few people have had the same problem. if your handle can rotate beyond the last setting on your engine you might have the same problem i have had. hope this helps........wet fly

Thanks everyone for your advice. After speaking with Butterstone and a replacement switch dispatched and successfully fitted, I was charging up and down Fruid Reservoir yesterday.

Thanks for you help and advice Butterstone.
