Default A float tube? That would be a waste of money !!

Having started reading about float tubing, and looking at a few which are available, I thought I might get myself one.
Then I thought, "Where can I use it"?
The answer is : Nowhere around here!
I live in Essex, and of the 3 large waters closest to me, Hanningfield, Walthamstow, And Rutland (Not so close but the biggest), none of them allow tubing, or kayaking. Walthamstow is bank only, and the other 2 obviously have their own boats for hire.
There really seems to be a shortage of places , not only around here, to use them.
Shame really.
All the best,
Gary

Gary , ravensthorpe allows tubing ,its rather fun ,if you have a look at the BFTA web site and their forum there are odd days on some other ressers including Pitsford and even Rutland available to members .
walthamstowe would be an ideal venue for tubing size wise but its concrete bowl construction would make launch and landing "interesting".
Going back to Ravensthorpe they hire tubes so you could try before you buy .
i think Weirwood when it reopens may well offer tube fishing !

Thanks Andy.
I also just found out that Elinor allows tubes too.
Just a shame that there is nowhere closer to me.
I like the idea of hiring one before I make the decision to buy. This is something well worth doing. Who knows, I might hate it !
Cheers,
Gary

Where exactly is this, Andy? Sounds like you have fished here before?
I've never heard of it before.
Website looks promising but is under construction, with no location details or anything.

Cheers,
Gary
