Nobody knows is the answer! I even spoke to Shakespere themselves earlier this year asking the same question and they didn't know!!

I'd suggest you join the British Float Tube forum as there are lots of members on there who own one and might be able to give you an answer

I guess I am 13-14 stone at the moment and am fine in my Shakey , think a 16 stone might be around maximun ,I would have a gossip with steve Parton when he gets back too work possibly tuesday ,He has probably the most knowlege of what tube for what weight ,and he designed the tube in question!

Fatty here varies between 16 & 17 stones and I've never sunk mine yet.

The Expedition was a development out of the Sparton Cruiser which used the original Peter Ross Woodriver Hull shape .
It has been dropped from Pure Fishing's Range for this year for sure - only around 300 per year sold !

The Cruiser I am still making though ! Personally and entirely by my own hand !
As far as I know - I'm the last maker standing in the West !

I'd suggest that around 19 stones is the max for either tube - I am 17 and a half and no problems at all !

The biggest lad I sold one too took my advice to heart and dropped his weight below 19 stones after a struggle but said it was well worth the effort even tho as a fit copper of 6'5" he wasn't particularly fat !

Technically I could make you a special - practically it would cost well over £500 - to recut the patterns and rejig the flotation system and whereas I've looked at it everybody is currently hooked on Cheap Chinese ( yes The Government stole their money and they ain't got much left ) .
No point in me doing the work and then having it forged by some smartiepants !

Best wishes

Steve Parton
