Default Camo Gunnison Float Tube

Click the image to open in full size.

I like the camo look on a float tube but is the actual tube any good?

Has anyone got one?

So many?? Personally I wouldn't really say it was too many, mostly the following points to be bourne in mind:

1. Is your 'system' safe?

2. errmm..

Sorry but for now I cant recall the rest...either that or they pale into relative insignificance which hopefully will become apparent when you float yer boat!

You also have to like it ....
It has to suit the places where you fish ....
It has to a a reasonable size to suit you ...
It has to be affordable for you ....

Your personal requirements, honestly evaluated, should decide for you.

The thing to remember is that there are no bad tubes in those available from the well known makers. Their reputations have been earned by sales of hundreds or thousands of float tubes, and anglers comments, while subjective, will begin to show a pattern very quickly if any particular tube were to have a "problem."
I think it's fair to say that the recently introduced models are better than the older ones, and have been well tested by now in the waters we fish.
Any tube chosen from (in no particular order) FC4, SFC, Expedition, Bullet, ODC420, or their yearly amended versions will all do just fine and serve you well.
If you like to have a long service life from your gear try to get one with a urethane bladder system, but if you're moving up and on to fresh stuff every two-three years the lower cost vinyl bladders work well for many anglers and should be ok for a reduced cost.

You can also mention the place you plan to use it and see if there are any tubers already there who respond.

Hope this helps.

Not much fishing time recently, and I lost a fly wallet during a house move ... hundreds of flies gone .... I really hope it turns up but it likely is gone forever. So my spare time is all fly tying at the moment.

The gales this week will fill the water with yellow leaves to distract the fish and catch in hooks. Bait weather. End of next week should be interesting.

I don't push the results boat out much. But I'll take some photos next time and do a report.

Norm
