yes. perhaps more slowly than might be possible - but that's harmless.

You can charge a deep cycle battery with any 12 volt battery charger, but the 70 Ah number you posted strikes me as odd.

Battery chargers generally have switches so you can select the voltage (assuming they charge both 6 volt and 12 volt batteries, some only do one) and then there is sometimes a way to adjust the amp hour (AH or AHr) rate of charge. The rate of the charge signifies how much current is flowing to the battery.

A sustained 70 AHr charge would be an extremely high rate of charge from what I've seen. This is almost like a "boost" feature that some chargers have so that you can connect a battery charger and immediately start cranking the engine.

Most battery chargers have charge rates somewhere between 1.5 and 15 AHr. 70 AHr would be a very high rate of charge, if that's really the right number. Could it be 7.0 AHr? That would make more sense.

If it truly is a 70 AHr charge, I would not use it because I'd be afraid it would shorten the life of the battery. Personally, I like to charge my deep cycle battery's at the lowest AHr setting possible because I've read that it can help maximize the service life of the battery. Usually, I charge on the 5 AHr setting unless I'm fishing the next day and then I use the 12 AHr setting. Even at 12 AHr, the battery boarders on hot to the touch after an overnight charge, I hate to think what 70 AHrs of sustained charge would do to a battery.

If this is it:
http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/r...v-and-12v.aspx

Then its a 6 amp charger - the 70AH - means batteries of up to 70 ampere hours - charging a 120AH battery will take about one and a half times as long, but the chemistry remains the same.

yeh that's the one
so basically it will do the job but just take twice as long.

cheers Gaz
