Exclamation Shaky seat vs Sparton seat

Hi Guys

I borrowed my Dads Sparton crusier float tube yesterday, we both use the sparton pile cushion

I have to say while i still feel the Shaky is the better tube, finish wise the seat is better in the sparton.

I was riding higher in the water and didnt get the slow forward slide that i seem to get in the shaky.

Im going to measure up both seats side by side and reckon i will stitch my shaky seat to the same dimensions as the sparton, then i will have the perfect tube

I cured the forward slid thing on my Shakey with just chucking my Sparton pile comforter into the seat area . works very well for me .

Hi Andy

Take a close look at the Sparton seat, the black "seams" which attach the seat to the tube are wider at one end of the seat and narrower at the other end of the seat, which raises it slightly at the front ........ Then look at how it has been done on the Shakey

Best wishes
Mike

Hi Guys

Ive had time to compare both tube seat which are identical in design both have two long straps at the back which which are stitched to the back.

A thick square seat thats stitched to thick black canvas seam one each side running along bottom of each arm rest.

Sparton seat

Width front seat 19"

Length of seat 16"

Width back of seat 22"

Length of rear straps 7"

Shaky seat

Width front seat 21.5"

Length of seat 16"

Width of back of seat 23"

Length of rear straps 8"

I reckon im going to unpick my seat, get out my biggest needle, sail makers palm and extra stong black thread ! And adjust my seat

It all seems a bit strange as Steve designed the Shaky tube.
