Default float tube

hi guys i have been looking at these float tubes and it looks a fun and exciting way of flyfishing alot cheaper than buying a boat, and whats makes me like them is it looks like you can hold your positon and control your drift better with these. i would like to hear from any of yous guys who have ever experienced being out in one and if it is comfortable as it looks to fish from ?

thanks for any replies

Its like fishing in a comfy club armchair ,once you have mastered the finning technique it takes little effort to move around .
Cant wait for the weather to warm up some and a day at Ravensthorpe in my tube again .
I did it reasonably cheaply with the Shakespeare tube ,sadly no longer available ,if it were would get one for my son who enjoys tubing as well ,at present he fishes in a mates Snobee cheapo one that I recon wont last long ,just as well the boy swims well

I've got one of them cheepo Snowbee tubes
It does me just fine for what I want, which is about half a dozen outings a year in it
As ACW says, once you get the hang of paddling like a demented duck, it is great fun and a very comfy way of fishing.

hi there mate i do 90% of my fly fishing in the tube and its the best thing ive ever do.i did get a cheap tube to start with but then i got the outcast prowler its the best ive ever seen and used my fishing buddy has about six differant tubes and he swears by the out cast ones. heres a pic f mine when i first set it up and with my rod holders i made for it. it has a drinking water comparment to.it a ice bag built in. the floor inflates and its lighter than any other of this size, it dries quicker than others. if your a big lad like me then get this if you want the quality. or the delux one with inflatable seat too.my pockets unclip off the tube so i can take all my stuff in the house and i dont have to empty it every time i go out in it to.

First class, super comfortable, main tube, back rest tube and life preserve makes them pretty safe. Trout rise close to you. hook into a decent sized fish and it decides which way you are facing. Only downside for me is 2 minutes in the water and I want to WEE some do it diver style and fill the neoprenes. !! Bob.

well i now how to get one over here from the states. around £450.00 its a lot if you havent tryed tubing but like holo said you have to get in one three or four times then you can do alsorts in one movement is great and in mine im high in the water so i can move better if your tube is low in the water when your sat in it then you have water drag when you paddle any where. then you dont have the quick movement in mine its very good. mines going to india next time i go and ill be catching marsheer in it. as for wee ing you need to buy chest waders with the zip on the front like mine. but ive now got waist waders as i only get wet from the knee down now ive got this tube so if i get caught short i would wee in a bottle. or go to the bank and get out and do it but in the cheap tubes you will need the chest ones with the zip £125.00 i know where they are.

May I also add, very quiet. No boat partner clumping about, oars banging, things getting dropped not to mention anchor chains grinding over the gunnels. It can be a lonely life but oh so peaceful. Bob

bob your right its piecful and you can find more fish in a tube as on the bank you cant cast out that bit extra but in the tube you can cast to the fish from the middle to the bank.i like to sit in the middle and have a sandwich just watching the world go by. and then get into a nice sized fish that you,ve sneeked up on when you see them rise.if you have a fishing buddy like i do then its all the better.

this pic is of a outcast delux superfat cat.not mine but my mate has the same one as this with out the piping. this is the next one down but the pockets are sewn on and it cant take as much weight as the prowler. i do have alot of weight in mine too some times as i can put a motor on and a fishfinder on big waters only.

here is the perch caught i think the tube is a bit over the top with piping for the gadgits.
