Default The tub

Hi,
After many seasons stood on the shore looking at Bass/mackerel blitzing way out of casting range i have finally managed to get afloat.
Its 18ft and really wide, totally open and will go through 18 inches of water.
Roll on summer,im sure its just around the corner.

Well done you.
Hope you have success and more importantly enjoy it.
I am just about to move to Cumbria and I am determined to buy a boat for use on the lakes, I've a lot to learn as I have never boat fished yet.

Best of luck she looks a sound boat.
Graham

Nice rig. Is it wood or fiberglass? I see the transom is wood, but is the hull glass?

Will you keep it moored or trailer / dry stack it? It's probably just me, but your UK wooden boats are so pretty that it would just kill me to leave them in the water and have to deal with bottom fouling goo, seagull's sh!tting on them, etc.

I run much more utilitarian aluminum fishing boats, I don't have the heart to beat up a pretty wooden boat.

That's a very nice rig. Make sure you keep up with the water pump maintainance on that Honda or it'll bite you, especially running in the silt and salt.

Hi,
Its glass fibre and sits in 24 hour access mooring. It will come out a couple of times a year for a blast off of muck at the Marina.
I trade at the marina so the lads will haul it out for me so i can clean her up.
The deck is flat and she is really stable.Cant wait to sidle up to those marks in the harbours.
Cheers
Simon

Solid looking boat.

best of luck with it.. I use my lakeboat on the sea, but am considering trying to get a boat like this for the sea as its a pain hauling the lakeboat about.

Cheers
JJ
