You do NOT want one that doesn't allow you to pull on the 'line' and free same; these will
're-jam' at the most ... how to say? .... inopportune moments?
Off to look up a link.
Edit:
http://hydeoutdoors.com/onlineflysho...product_id=129 In the bottom of a drift boat 'we' do use a slightly different bit of kit, but the end game is 'you pull, it releases.' (Back to Google for a link)
Edit-edit:

DO NOT tie a knot at the end of the rope if the line is going through any kind of 'extra' gear. Knot will 'jam' and you could/will be in "deeeeep ship." In fast moving water this could well pull the back/front of your boat under water .... you thought you had a 'problem' before? Now you've
really got a problem!
Another just trust me on this one.
