Default Flip Fins

Any of you experienced tubers tried these or similar ones?

Gimmick or a worthwhile innovation? ... anything similar available in UK?

Cheers

I asked the clerk in Cabela's about these, he just rolled his eyes and told me to get the Force Fins. That's just one person's opinion. I do like the idea, but am happy with what I have.

The guy rolled his eyes because he doesn't know you-know-what from shinola.
I had the adjustable Force Fins for about 5 years. Best fins on the market.
For the time.
I'm 6'2" with size 12 boots. The FF's were about 4" or so longer than my boots. I had a Super Fat Cat, sold it for a NFO Escape. I have the NFO Outlaw X5 and an Outlaw Renegade for kickboats. My wife surprised me last year around May and got me a pair of the Flip Fins. Quite a bit longer, hell of a lot easier to get on then the FF's. And about half the weight. First time on the water, it was a different ball game. With the FF's, you are peddling backwards- more scooping the water to move yourself. Flip Fins, you are more less leaning back a little and flutter kicking. Propelling yourself on the up and down kick.
The Flip Fins are like regular fins with a couple perks that others don't have. The flip up part and the hard synthetic frame with the rubber middle insert.
I sold the Force Fins a couple weeks after I got the Flip Fins. Never regreted it.
For me, they're way above the Force Fins. And less expensive.
Now this is just my opinion only and I've had a lot of fins over the years, but these kick **** over every other pair I've owned.

I use them, they are awesome. I also have and use Force Fins. I think the rigid spoon shape of the Force Fin is the best in moving on rough water. Plus you really can walk forward in them, but please, no video of this.
BUT, I have a woman's size 9 boot, so allot of the Force Fin is used. Bigger the foot could create a smaller flipper. They are heavy, and require some major adjusting when going from my Simms boots to boot foot Hippers. I do have the FF with neoprene upper and heel, which I recommend highly as I have had several flippers wear out expensive boots.

As far as the Omega's, pretty much all I used last year. I will be honest, I did not care for them first time out and my ankles and calfs were not crazy about them. Second trip out, I realized, I was trying to muscle them like I do with the FF. These require very little movement to work. You lean back and flutter like swimming on your back. You actually move on the up AND the down stroke.

These did good in 4 foot swells, but they are more flexible than FF. The force fins allow you to dig in for sure.

In my opinion, if I were to have ONE set of fins...it would be the Omega's.
You do need to make some adjustments to walk in them, so please, no video there either......LOL
