Hi Guys
Popped out with the tube again today after wild Browns, 2.30pm -4.30pm air temp 11 oC, water temp 5 oC.
9' #5, 12' leader 6lb flouro, set up point = Goldhead damsel - black hopper - Clan Chief, on a med glass line.
Missed a bite early on tight in to the reeds in my favorite little bay, however i was soon rewarded with a very solid take and fish on !
I was surprised to see a 14" rainbow on my Clan chief ! there is a small stocking on rainbows but ive never caught one here before ! real good scrap and into the net

.....at the same time a 14" brown trout jump right next to me ! then i realised it was on also on my line ! i had to hand line him close enough to net with the rainbow

it had taken the black hopper.
Double hook up

not bad for barbless

Oh ye of little faith repent
A wee while later i thought i was snagged ? and put pressure on my line and rod then i felt a thumping and the fish went mental ! it actually turned my right round in the float tube finally after a good old scrap i netted yet another rainbow this one 16" plump 2lb the Clan chief in the scissors.
My final fish ...............another rainbow

nailed my goldhead damsel and again put up a very spirited account of its self.
Good day, well few hours enjoyed myself, one missed tug and four fish, however id rather of caught more Browns but the rainbows did fight very well indeed.
I kept all the fish today normally i return 95% of the Browns i catch there but todays nailed the fly so hard it was taking so long to removed it i decided to keep the fish.
