Hi Guys
Left for work this morning 04.40 scraped the car which said - 2 oC , left work 13.15 car said 8 oC bright sun all morning i hoped it had warmed the Loch a little
Arrrived at the Loch wild Browns the target, over cast with patchy bright sun, still 8 oC very strong westerly wind and big wave and wind lanes
Set up my 9' #5, floating line 12 ft leader and three flys.............
Entered the Loch about 14.15 Vision sub zero seemed to be working .......... didnt feel too cold ............. later my float tubes thermometer told me it was a barmy 4 oc in the Loch !
This shallow bay has always produced good early season Brownie, i was hoping it would today .......................
Long strong short........... i hooked (rod buckled over)

and lost

"four" good wild browns all savage takes i saw the third fish a nice pounder. It was one of those rubber hook days ! But nice to know they are up for it

at the start of the season.
I was struggling to figure out which fly they had been hitting it was either the damsel on the point of the daiwl bach on the 2nd dropper ? Even in the middle of the gale force gust there were buzzers popping up all over the place.
15.30 came a shore for a pee and heat up a bit changed to a intermediate line and same flys , however this time i used a open loop on the damsel so i could tell which fly they were hitting

which i could now tie as the feeling had returned to my fingers
Back in it wasnt long till i got a savage tug but failed to hook up ......... checking the knots i could see it was the damsel that was hit, and later i missed another tug again on the damsel.
Size 8 McGowans damsel, size 12 red daiwl bach, size 12 Clan chief
Sadly didnt net any fish but had a great time great to get out again,"in" the water....................................... Can only get better as it warms up, so dust of your tubes, get out your neopranes and get wet

it aint that cold ...........

Oh air temp 4 oC when i left.
