Mexico extended health insurance coverage by about a million people a month in the first half of the year, said the Mexican Health Ministry on Friday.

The ministry said there are 36.8 million subscribers to the [URL="http://www.thestarline.com"][B][SIZE="3"]Social Health Protection System[/SIZE][/B][/URL] (SPSS) created in 2004. The SPSS targets Mexico's low-income population, especially those living in rural areas.
