Hi Everyone,
Assynt Angling Research
For anyone going fly fishing in Assynt this year, we have updated our Assynt Angling Research website. Please go and have a look - and contribute! It is really important we get the input from as many visiting anglers as possible.
Go to:
Welcome | Assynt Angling Research There you will find:
- An interactive searchable Ordnance Survey map with dozens of loch locations marked. You can click on the lochs, get permit, boat and location details as well as other information. There are comments from other anglers about how they are fishing - please add yours!
- The Assynt Angling Survey 2010. If you're fishing there it will really help the research and local angling groups if you can complete it.
- An online catch return. Very little is recorded about what is caught in Assynt and this is one way you can help ifnorm angling in the area.
- You can also get information about salmon and sea trout fishing, and sea fishing. And we are adding literature, film, pictures and other artefacts of Assynt angling history.
We are keen that research is made available as we go along - the project runs from 2009-2011. An Interim Report from last year's work in Assynt - as well as other aspects of The Social and Community Benefits of Angling Research - is available at
www.resources.anglingresearch.org.uk
Many thanks
