I'm in exactly the same boat (ha ha!) as ticklematackle. Looking for a 10' all-round rod for boat and bank. Prefer a more "traditional" action than the broomsticks most makers offer.

I see Sharpes have added a 10' 6-weight to the Gordon 2 range. Worth a look. Also Sonik SK3 and SK4 - there are 10-foot 6-weights. Not sure what the action is like though.
