Hi, I used to fish the river quite a lot before moving from the area 5 years ago. I mainly fished upstream of Mossley towards Greenfield using wet & dry flys as well as small plugs and worms. In all the years i fished the river I never saw anyone else using the fly, often had the river completely to myself. I have to say that the sport was absolutely superb, I nearly always caught, in all conditions with some bumper catches of brown trout including some special ones around the 2-3lb mark.
