I was off for holidays so I got up early this morning and try for the Pike at a local lough. It was a lovely morning but the weather turned for the worse as I was leaving. I caught 5 nice Pike on a 2/0 Bush Pig. Most of them were very small and the biggest was around 4lbs.
Casting was awkward (a mill end 7wt on an 8wt rod!) and I developed a nice blister on my forefinger. I definitely need to get an 8wt floater suited for big flies.
Anyway, here's the fly.
The first Pike of the morning.
100% crocodile.
Biggest of the morning.
The lough I fished is a bit low at the moment, exposing all the great underwater features. Definitely a Pike hot-spot!

Brennan
