I use a about 4 or 5 different scissors for most work, but have access to maybe a dozen or so others when needs dictate. The one's I use most are 5" optical iris scissors from a local surgical instrument supplier & next to these are a pair of 4 1/2" curved iris scissors, which are slightly finer in the tip. The guy I get them from, sharpens them from new for me; so much so that I can cut individual fibres from a strand of peacock herl. I prefer the shape of these as your hand is well away from what you are cutting & you don't get cooked under the tying lights so much.

I will be trialing some new scissors from the same production line as Dr.S in a few days time. They're coming from Deer Creek - Flash Intro & are much less expensive.

Re the Rubis scissors, I haven't tried them but a search above will find threads saying that they're perhaps not as good as they're cracked up to be...... as they don't hold an edge for very long.
