I must admit to this one being a long running view, but realistically... the chances of the type of person using such substance being able to afford to defend themselves with a proper barrister is zero ... and why would they bother with such silly fines and sentences. I would love to see how someone would properly argue that an artificial substance, or a natural substance changed beyond physical recognition, would be still the original natural "roe" "object" intended by law. I have not used the stuff since I was a kid, though a few years ago I did show one bright yound lad a few things with a pan on the stove. Mine wasn't like cheese, but then I didn't use vinegar!

We could do with a few old time bailiffs, people who could easily see the ***** marks of a foul hooked fish, not like some of the clever dick "been at it five minutes" and know it all officers/"monkey grinders/salmon angling instructors" around today who don't want to prosecute people who drag fish out sideways....for lack of evidence.
