Plenty of thin foam on ebay, sold as 40 sheet packs, and come in bright, and some nice sombre, neutral colours & shades.
The stuff DS has mentiond, is brilliant for Buzzers, creates a great segmented effect.
Medium Buzzer wrap is great for #10's, and the Small is ideal for #12's

B.P. BUZZER DRESSING.
This is taken from Gordon’s book>
At present my favourite buzzer imitator, and one that increases in popularity season by season, it seems.
The dressing is intended to give you translucent multi-coloured pattern, when compared to my old standard buzzer.
Gordon Fraser.
Hooks: standard shank 10, 12 and 14
Silk/Thread: Black on black version; fawn on others.
Rib: Clear polypropylene( I prefer Steve Parton’s nymph rib)
Abdomen Blended fur (Seal Fur)
Thorax Blended fur (Seal Fur)
Thorax case Feather fibre - black on black ; ginger on ginger ; natural hen pheasant on others.
Colour ranges: Black ,Brown, Olive, Green, Claret, Fawn, Red and Orange.
On a personal note, I no longer bother to blend the fur, and tend to stick to: Straight Black, Straight Olive and Straight Green.
