Just thought I would add my ywo penneth and recommend a John Weaver vice.
Sportfish have the "Ultimate Type" at £32.99.

Mine is stll going strong after 10 years and if you want a pedestal they are currently an extra £23.99.

IMHO the pedestal gives great flexibility and for me is worth the extra.
